Posts and Resources are the adventure's reading material. They aren't played like milestones and they don't sit on the Journey: players open them from the menu, read them, and move on. A Post is an article or a notice; a Resource is reference material — an article, or a file or link to download.
They appear in the menu when the adventure has the Blog and Lore / Resources features switched on, under the names Posts and Resources unless your platform has renamed them. Create them from Add Mechanics with New Post and New Resource.
Writing a Post
- Post Headline, and a Secondary Headline shown under it.
- Post Image — required.
- Level — the level a player needs to reach.
- Display Style — how the post presents (below).
- Start Date — optional; the post isn't available before it.
- Available for — All paths, or a single path.
- Content — the article itself, in the rich-text editor. Player tokens work here, so a post can greet each reader by name; see Personalising Text.
- Status: Publish, Draft or Trash.
The Four Display Styles
- Text on Right — the default. Image on the left, words on the right.
- Text on Left — the same two panes, words first.
- News Highlight — one full-width image with the headline laid over its foot.
- Headline — no image at all, by design: the style for a short notice.
On a narrow screen the two-pane styles stack. A post with no image shows in the Headline style whatever you picked.
Writing a Resource
- Resource Name.
- Style — Resource (the default) or Article.
- Level.
- File or Link — paste a URL, or press Select file to pick one from the media library.
- Content.
- Image — one of twelve ready-made book covers, or your own.
- Color — the accent on its card.
- Available for — all paths, or one.
Saving a resource publishes it straight away; there's no draft state. To take one down, trash it from its card or from Manage Content.
How a Resource Becomes a Download
A resource with the Resource style and a File or Link is a download: its card's button reads Download and opens the file or link in a new tab, and its reading page carries a Download button above the content. With no file or link — or with the Article style — it's an article, and Read opens the reading page. The Resources page shows them as a grid of cards, each with the start of its content.
The Reading View
Posts and resources open on the same kind of page: the image and headline in the chosen style, the level and path as badges, the date it was posted, then the content. A Back to Posts (or Resources) link returns to the list. GMs also get Edit and All Posts buttons at the foot of the page. Manage Content's Journey tab lists posts and resources alongside milestones, each labelled with its type and with a View link.
Who Can Read What
Posts and resources are gated the way milestones are:
- Level — the list only shows what a player's level has reached. Opened directly before then, the page says You need to be Level N to open this post.
- Start date (Posts) — before it, the page says the post isn't available yet and gives the date. If the adventure hides milestones by date (any option other than Never in its time settings), future posts are also left out of the list until then.
- Path — a post or resource set to one path doesn't appear for players on another, and they can't open it at all.
A gated page always offers a way back to its list. Staff can open any post or resource directly, to check it.
What They Don't Do
Posts and resources carry no rewards and don't count toward journey or chapter completion. They don't appear on the Journey map or inside Tabis. If you need players to read something and earn for it, put it inside a milestone instead — a Dialogue or System Message step, for example.
