GM Toolkit: Duplicator, Player Records & Resets

The tools a GM reaches for once an Adventure is built: copying content, copying whole Adventures, fixing one player's run of a milestone, managing records, and finding things fast.

Duplicator

Admin Tools → Duplicator copies content from this Adventure into another one, or into itself. It lists milestones with all their steps, challenges with their questions, posts, resources, achievements, Tabis, items, encounters, speakers, tasks, guilds and missions. Tick what you want (each section has All and None, and the header counts what's selected), choose the target under Duplicate into in the bar at the bottom, and press Duplicate Selected. A confirmation names the destination and counts what's going before anything copies.

Copies are independent: new ids, no player data, and nothing in the source changes. A few things are adjusted on the way:

The Duplicator is a one-time copy, which is different from a template and its cohorts: those share content live. To bring guilds and missions into a cohort, open the Duplicator on the template and pick the cohort as the target. See Adventure Templates & Scaling Cohorts.

Duplicating a Whole Adventure

On Manage Adventures, Duplicate makes a full, independent copy of an Adventure: its own milestones, achievements, items, guilds and Tabis, with every reference between them remapped and no player data. A dialog confirms before it runs, and the copy opens in Adventure Settings, named after the original with (Copy) on the end. Editing it never touches the original. To copy a program run as a template, duplicate the template, not a cohort: the content lives on the template.

Resetting One Player's Milestone

When one player needs to run a milestone again (a challenge with its attempts used up, a SCORM package stuck mid-run, a case study that won't allow a retake), an administrator can reset that milestone for that player alone. Open the player's Journal (the Journal button on Manage Players) and press Reset next to the milestone. Milestones the player has started without handing anything in have their own list, Started, not submitted, with the same button.

Before anything happens, Reset milestone lists exactly what will be removed, with counts, taken from the same list the reset then runs. Press Reset it to go ahead. There's no undo. The activity log is kept and records the reset, uploaded files stay on disk, and a task the milestone happened to trigger, or an achievement earned through a condition rather than as the milestone's own reward, is left alone.

This is for administrators, not GMs, because it deletes part of a player's record. Removing a submission in Player Records runs the same reset.

Player Records

Admin Tools → Player Records manages what players hold in this Adventure: achievements (with Award and Remove from all), transactions (removable and restorable), milestone submissions and challenge attempts. Every tab filters by player, subject, status and search, and removes one row, a selection or everything matching. See Managing Your Player Roster.

Finding Things in Manage Content

Every tab of Manage Content has the same header and toolbar: a search box plus whichever filters make sense for that tab. Type buttons appear only for types the Adventure actually has (item types; badge, rank or path; encounter kinds; task triggers; and so on), and guilds filter by group instead. Every filter combines with the others. Items and guilds you've set to draft have their own Drafts list. The Requests tab keeps its own status filters, and the Dashboard tab, first in the row, shows what the Adventure holds and whether it's running.

The Milestone Funnel

From the Stats page, See the full funnel opens the Milestone Funnel: a drop-off chart you can narrow to one Tabi or one level, beside how many players are enrolled, what share have logged in, and what share were active in the last 7 days. It's the fastest way to spot the one milestone that's quietly losing everyone. See Reading the Stats Dashboard.
