Certificates & Secrets and Clues

Beyond badges and ranks, an Adventure can give you two more things to keep: certificates you can print, and secrets — bits of story your GM hid inside the milestones you finish.

Certificates

A certificate is a printable document your Adventure awards you. An Adventure can carry several — one for finishing the programme, one for reaching a level, one for your whole guild — and each one unlocks on its own terms. Some are open from the start. Others unlock only once you meet everything your GM set for them.

Where to Find Them

Certificates live on your Achievements page:

A locked certificate tells you exactly what's left, and where you stand when it can work that out: "Reach level 9 — you're at level 5", or "Complete 12 milestones — you've completed 7". Every line on that list has to be met before the certificate opens. The hint is written by the same rule that decides the unlock, so the two can't disagree.

Your GM can also choose to keep locked certificates out of sight until you've unlocked them. In that case you'll only see the ones you've already earned.

Guild Certificates

Some certificates go to your guild rather than to you. A guild certificate reads "Awarded to the team" and carries your guild's name. It prints the guild's combined numbers and member count, worked out from its current members when you open it. The guild's level is the members' average. You'll only be offered a guild certificate if you're in a guild.

The Badge on Your Certificate

Some certificates print a badge next to your name, and by default it's your current rank. Once you hold a certificate, you can pick a different one: use Badge shown on it in the Certificate panel of your Achievements page. It lists the badges and ranks you hold (paths aren't offered). Choose My current rank to go back. Levelling up never overrides a badge you picked.

Printing

Open a certificate and press Print or save as PDF. It uses a fixed, print-safe layout (US Letter, landscape), and only the certificate itself goes to paper, not the app around it. Depending on how your GM set it up, it can show a logo, a headline, your name, your badge, a personal paragraph, a few numbers (level, XP, BLOO, energy), the Adventure's name and dates, and a signature. If you hold more than one, switch between them from the bar above the document.

Secrets and Clues

Some milestones carry a hidden "success message" — a bit of story or narrative payoff your GM wrote for finishing that milestone, written specifically to be a) hidden until then and b) worth savoring once. Every one you've unlocked gets collected on your Secrets and Clues page — a personal scrapbook of the story content you've earned, separate from the milestones themselves and worth a look if you want the narrative in one place rather than scattered across the Journey Map.
