Deliver — auto-completes on view
- Dialogue — a character speaks; name, portrait, left/right placement.
- Video — plays a video file.
- Audio — plays an audio clip in a player widget.
- Find Item — hands the player an item into their Backpack.
Validate — must be answered correctly to advance
- Multiple Choice — question, optional image, one or many correct options.
- Keyphrase — type a phrase; list of accepted answers, optional case sensitivity.
- Cryptex — the same as Keyphrase, as a combination lock with a set wheel count.
- Puzzle — jigsaw from an uploaded image, on a grid you choose (2–8 by 2–8).
- Require Backpack Item — only opens if the player carries a given item; optionally consumes it.
- SCORM Package — runs an uploaded SCORM 1.2 package with completion tracking and resume.
- Case Study (HTML) — embeds an external interactive activity; set pass score and question count.
Collect — a submission, with no right or wrong
- Open Text — free writing; minimum word count and optional AI validation.
- Survey Choice — a question with options; allow multiple, optionally show results.
- Rating Scale — numeric scale with min/max values and a label at each end.
- Poll — a question whose aggregate results appear as bars after voting.
- Upload Image — image submission with a maximum file size.
- Upload Video — video submission with a maximum file size.
Flow — routing
- Branch Choice — a permanent, mutually exclusive pick between the paths in a branch group.
Special
- System Message — narrator text with no character attached.
- Win Screen — the success beat.
- Fail Screen — the failure beat; ends the Milestone as failed.
- Choose Nickname — prompts for the player's name and sets it.
- Choose Avatar — the player picks from the avatars you provide.
Any Step can be marked optional (players may skip it), can carry a background image, and can pay out its own XP/BLOO/EP/item/achievement on top of the Milestone's overall reward. Validate types can also carry a Mistake Message shown on a wrong answer.
